  • You need a stump grinder

    Zach FergusonZach FergusonPřed dnem
  • You talking about at least at least 30 grand what's the work and that's including moving the stumps and the trees the other contractors left behind so that's a pretty good hustle right there

    Derrick RhameDerrick RhamePřed 2 dny
  • I know it cost a pretty good penny per stop and also I have to say that is awesome that you're preserving nature by taking off the soil off the stumps

  • when you drove up the road forward I knew you were going to get stuck. I could see your tires sinking when you did your 10-point turn. Good job pulling it out though.

    • Good example of why to use something like stabiligrid or trugrid to help support a load on an unpaved surface, also helps to compact the substrate.

  • Why didn’t you tailgate the load instead of having to spread it out from a pile? It would’ve saved you more time and could’ve gotten further with the driveway and had been able to get more loads from the quarry before it closed. Maybe even have gotten it all done.

    Larry McIntireLarry McIntirePřed 3 dny
    • I used to do it going forward when I used to work for a big paving company. Several times I had to go to residence and would back up to the starting point and raise the bed to a certain height then release the tailgate and then drive forward. You have to use chains to set the amount of material you want to tailgate as you go. You also have to be careful to not over raise the bed to a tipping point backwards but also to side to side. It takes a while to master but makes a job like this a lot easier and faster to get done.

      Larry McIntireLarry McIntirePřed dnem
    • I was thinking the same thing. Use the truck to spread it while driving in reverse.

  • did you get permits from the state county city and forest service? you cant just cut down trees and access county or state roads you know and tamping down the ground with the bucket does virtually nothing you need a roller or a wheel roller for that

  • Why so many thumbs up!? this is not how you install a driveway. the guy didn't' even dig down and put big stones in first, this is just going to turn into a pothole mess in 6 months.

  • You have organics under the Geo textile? Why don’t you dig out all the organics and go down to good ground. This is road building 101. RIP to whoever paid you lol. Road is going to settle with organics underneath. Water hits it and it will be soup.

Horse From HellHorse From HellPřed 7 dny
    • He isnt building a road hes installing a driveway that will never have the traffic that a road does. Yes you should dig down to a clay base for a solid foundation for a road but they arent paying him to do that obviously so he is doing what he is paid to do.

      Alex ThomasAlex ThomasPřed 6 dny
    • i could be wrong but the "geo textile" will act as a seperation layer between the organics and the chunky rocks, right? And "sinkage" shouldn't matter because it will sink uniformly, right? It's also not like the man used sand, he used rock that will drain water easily (and water will flow downhill through the rock, to the bottom of the driveway, right?) This guy seems like a good guy too, I'm sure he'd fix any problem related to his craftsmanship (not sure if its the right word)
