  • The problem with that engine is the Dynamic compression is around 7.8:1 That solid roller has a intake valve closing of around 72 to 73 degrees ABDC, which reduces the swept volume and effective stroke to the point to where you need like at least 11.50 :1 static compression to get the Dynamic compression up to 8.25:1 to 8.40:1. 10.4 :1 static compression is way too low for that cam. That could be an easy 50+HP and 30+LB.FT.

  • If you’re not daddy warbucks, it’s best to keep your engine build sane guys, especially if it’s your only ride. If buying the hot rod and building a monster engine to put in it don’t bankrupt you then car insurance and gas bills will. Trying to find obsolete parts and incompetent mechanics will also have you going nuts. Been there, done that, already.

    • @david husbandits cause from two side of the rotor that a fuel air charge. Even thoe one is on power and there other is compressing. It happens even 120 degrees of crank or E shaff ration to a 540 degrees on a piston crankshaft. While the other side is exhausting. Thats the ruff rotor to pistol conversion. -"The 26B engine displaced 2.6 L (2,622 cc) per set of four chambers (counting only one 654 cc (39.9 cu in) chamber for each of the four rotors) - thus the "26" in the series name suggesting 2.6 litres - and developed 700 hp (522 kW) at 9000 rpm."- Thats why its a ruff conversion.

Is a pretty sweet little car. Back then Van Nuys Boulevard was the place to be. Four of us pool as much gas money together during the 73 embargo. Filled the tank up and two five gallon containers and proceeded to drive out there in 69 nova with L88 513s verta gate shifter. Won a couple races just enough to get us a tank full of gas and back home. life was good... Not vega good but pretty dam good
