  • Very cool. I’d not seen this car before. Exceptional interior. I see why you like it. The front end looks like they had three competing designs and ended up just slamming them together.

  • It's a beautiful car, if a bit---quirky(?) One year, in the early '60s, I drove from my home west of Milwaukee, WI, up to Elkhart Lake for the June Sprints. In those days, the route I drove took me through a rather rich little community north of Milwaukee (Mequon? Thiensville?), where I passed a used car lot with lots of foreign cars. A sleek-looking 2-seater fastback coupe caught my eye so I parked my MGB and walked over to look at it. It was beautifully proportioned, with a fiberglass body with the usual crazing of the paint and the interior looked a little worse for wear, but I really liked it. Someone told me it was a Jensen, with a Triumph TR-3 engine and drive line and running gear. It was still there when I drove up to the Road America 500 and I looked it over again, finding it a little dingier, specially inside. I've never seen another and I can't seem to find anything on it on the internet, so maybe I was misinformed, so can anyone enlighten me?

  • I test drove one of these in the late 80s at Cropredy Bridge. Big regret that I didn't buy it! A very quick car indeed, By the way, when comparing it to the Interceptor, you're thinking of the lazy mid 70s mark III interceptor with the emission controlled 440. The mark I interceptor is mechanically pretty much identical to the mark III CV8, just a little slower due to the extra weight.

  • I didn't like the head lights, tail lights some what and all the other lights on it. I thought it was too much and bug eyed. It looked very weird to me. Other than that I loved the car and everything else. Interior was ahead of it's time. Seeing the gorgeous leather seats I thought I was looking at a modern style of of car's seats from the either this year 2019 or very recent.

So we like seeing your cars. Show us more! Many thanks once again for your enthusiasm, in helping to keep our 'car-enthusiasts' hobby going, with your great video content! Kudos.

  • Before watching this video I knew the Jensen name but did not know much about the actual car. With the English styling combined with the American drive train this appears to be the perfect touring vehicle. No wonder you enjoy driving it so much! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful cars, bikes and knowledge! Cheers!

  • Jay I saw my first Jenson in Australia when i was there in 1991 with our mutual friend Gregg Barnes. We were there working on Dale Coynes Indy cars for the first Indy race in Australia. I'm a Chrysler nut and and a bloke was working on a odd car on the side of the road . I was on the way to the track and in uniform . Those patches are power used good or bad. Wow what do I see but a 440 ,,6 pack . Gave the man some tips and got to work. Remember the Jenson brand since then. How is Red Barnes chasies going ? Would love to see it and my friend Gregg Barnes again.

  • That is a beautiful car. Love the lines with an American V8. When I was a very young a neighbor had a 1966 TVR Griffith with the 289 Ford. It also was a beautiful car. One day he did a smoky burn out from a gas station by my house and a 1/4 mile run. Watching it was a life changing experience and started my love of cars. Years later I duplicated the act with a 350 IROC Z and thought about the Griffith.

  • I was familiar with the Interceptor, there seem to be a fair number of those still around here. I believe they also made an all wheel drive variant of the Interceptor called the FF. And of course later the Jensen-Healey's. But I had never heard of a CV8 until I saw this. I like the lines. Much better then the Interceptor.

    Rob ReidRob ReidPřed 13 dny
  • The CV8 driven by Steve Forrest in the 1960's Tv show THE BARON still exists, apparently it lives near Southend a seaside town in the county of Essex. The owner is a very private man I hear and it's never at any car show although it's been spotted on the road. It does not wear the BAR 1 number plate anymore though.

  • What a piece of art! The only thing missing from that interior is a fireplace. Although the British don't have a reputation for screwing things together properly or grasp the concept of reliability, I don't think anyone does interiors better. Beautiful side profile. Often wonder what the car would like like with single lights on the front with a pair of larger driving lights instead of that odd angular set but the rest of the design is pure automotive lust. Thanks for sharing Jay.

    • The fact so many of these classic British cars are still with us today,40,50,60 years since they left the factory kind of proves that they clearly well put together and reliable! Think about it idiot!!

  • Did the Jensen people designe the Volvo P1800?

    Sten AlrikssonSten AlrikssonPřed 17 dny

  • That is a wonderful car, love the interior. Modern car interiors just don't have that class. About 40 years ago, I worked with a man (in South Australia)who had one of these, earlier model but not in anywhere near the condition of yours.
